We’re big fans of TRP brakes around here and the Slate T4 is the best bang for buck option. Reliable and easy maintaince mineral oil design, 4 pistons and large brake pads for great stopping power, a smooth and well modulated lever feel. Compatible with Shimano Zee/4 piston pads so grabbing spares on a trip should be simple. Long 3 finger lever blade plays nicely with Grip Shifters, as well as ALT bars like the Surly Moloko or Jones Bars. We’ve fitted these brakes to everything from rigid Surly Ogres exploring the world to Evil Offerings destorying the bike park and they simply work and keep working.
